CJUS 534 Final Project Liberty
The student will work on a final project throughout the course that will consist of three separate assignments which will focus on identifying the need for a diversity hiring policy within law enforcement agencies.
Part I
The student will submit research the best practices related to diversity hiring and develop a department policy. The assignment must be 3–5 pages, include an introduction, at least 2 peer-reviewed references, and be written in APA format.
Part II
The student will develop the recruiting, hiring, and training components of the policy that was submitted for Part I. This assignment must be 3–5 pages, include the 2 peer-reviewed references, at least 1 interview with a law enforcement leader, and be written in APA format.
Part III
For the final part of the assignment, the student will continue the search of best practices for diversity hiring by looking at the curriculum used by at least one police agency in its academy training. The student will then develop a plan to incorporate diversity issues into academy and sustainment training. Part III must be 3–5 pages, include at least 2 peer-reviewed references not previously used, at least one review of a law enforcement academy’s curriculum and be written in APA format. Part III must be combined with the first two parts of the assignment and submitted as one document.
Each exam will cover the Reading & Study material for the assigned modules/weeks. Each exam will be open-book/open-notes, contain short answer questions, and have a 1 hour and 15-minute time limit.
